Anne Terry is the Nature Center Manager at Tracy Aviary’s new Jordan River Nature Center in South Salt Lake. She is passionate about making the Nature Center a place where people connect with one another, as well as with nature.
She got her start in environmental education at the age of thirteen by volunteering at a zoo in her hometown of Victoria, Texas. There she came to understand the potential for zoos and other informal learning environments to connect people to the natural world. She has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Texas and completed the UTeach Natural Sciences program. She made the move to Utah to work at Tracy Aviary in 2012 and fell in love with the state. In 2016, she received the Vern A. Fridley Environmental Educator of the Year award from the Utah Society for Environmental Education and became a Utah Certified Environmental Educator. She enjoys spending time with her dogs, bike commuting, and birding.
