Julie Heavirland represents Back Country Horsemen which is a nationwide non-profit service organization that is dedicated to keeping America’s trails open for all by working with other volunteer organizations and public land managers at all levels. She has been member of Back Country Horsemen for over nine years. She was a two term president of the Wasatch Front Chapter of Back Country Horsemen which is based in Weber and Davis Counties. As part of this organization she has accumulated over 2,000 volunteer hours maintaining trails, meeting with public land managers at the local, county and state level to plan trail maintenance and improvement projects in the northern Utah area. Julie is also a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. She has owned horses for over thirty years and enjoys spending time camping and trail riding with friends and horses.
