President – Utah State Senate, representing District 9 and Salt Lake County
Wayne Niederhauser was first elected to the Utah State Senate in 2006, and as Senate President in 2012. He is now in his third term representing Senate District 9, which covers most of Sandy and the east portion of Little Cottonwood Canyon. In the Senate, he serves on the Executive Appropriations Committee, Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Interim Committee, Political Subdivisions Interim Committee, Senate Education Committee, Senate Economic Development and Workforce Services Committee, Senate Judiciary, Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice Committee, Subcommittee on Oversight, and others. Sen. Niederhauser is a Certified Public Accountant. He is also an owner of CW Management Corporation, a real estate development company located in West Jordan. They are a leader in designing open space, parks and trails as an integral part of development. In addition to his service in the Utah Senate, Sen. Niederhauser is a board member for Envision Utah, the Sports Commission, the Visit Salt Lake Board (local CVB), and the Shakespearean Festival Board.
