Aaron Averett grew up in a family that spent spring, summer, and fall often camping and exploring the public lands of the Western United States.
Winters were spent skiing in the resorts of Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. This love of outdoor recreation took a different path than many outdoor professionals as Aaron Graduated with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering in 2005 from Brigham Young University. Since 2005, Aaron has worked for Sunrise Engineering working mainly on water and recreation projects.
Coordinating with and meeting requirements of land management entities has been a part of many projects Aaron has completed for Sunrise Engineering. Recently Aaron and his team in Vernal Utah have completed Trails Master Plans for Uintah County, Daggett County and they are currently underway with the Duchesne County Trails Master Plan. These Plans include all forms of trails in each county, from pedestrian and biking routes in communities to hiking and mountain biking trails to motorized singletrack, 52″, SxS and rock crawling trails. Implementation plans for specific projects included in the Master Plans outline potential funding sources and steps toward making trails projects become reality. Aaron is currently a member of both the DinoTrails Committee and the Uintah County Planning Commission.
