Betsy Byrne

Landscape Architect, National Park Service Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance

Betsy Byrne is a landscape architect with the National Park Service’s Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program. She provides planning assistance to community-led outdoor recreation and conservation projects, including strategic planning, community outreach, identification of funding resources, and conceptual designs. Among other projects, she is currently working with Cache County on its trails and active transportation plan and with Backman Elementary on connecting students to educational and recreational opportunities along the Jordan River. Betsy holds a master’s in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning from Utah State University, where she focused on active transportation, recreation and open space planning, and resilient community design.
