Leisure Services Deputy Director - Park Planning, St. George City

Jeff is a licensed landscape architect with over 22 years of professional experience in the landscape architecture field practicing in both the United States & Australia. His experience includes master planning and detailed design and development for a variety of project types and sizes. He is also experienced with sustainable design practices, construction, and project management. His extensive experience includes design and implementation of a variety of popular recreational amenities and facilities, the use of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles and practices, and Low Impact Development (LID) design solutions. He is also skilled in the design and implementation of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles and practices as it relates to open space and the landscape environment. Jeff has a detailed knowledge of native and non-native plant species used in the landscape industry and has experience delivering low maintenance and sustainable project outcomes.

Jeff is currently the Leisure Services Deputy Director over Park Planning for the City of St. George, Utah. He is also Director and Principle Landscape Architect for the firm Environmental Design Studio located in St. George, Utah. He has been instrumental in the design and development of many of the iconic neighborhood and community parks and trails being developed in Southern Utah over the past six years. Jeff is experienced working with a variety of municipalities, institutions and private developers which gives him a balanced perspective and understanding of what it takes to provide a successful outcome related to recreational amenities, park and open space design, and overall development practices. Because of Jeff’s training and experience, he understands the complexities of the landscape environment and its relationship to soils, climate, water quality, and maintenance. He has demonstrated his ability to provide creative design solutions to complex and challenging site conditions and is considered an integral part of any design team with which he works.
