Jim Sibthorp

Professor, University of Utah

Jim Sibthorp is a professor of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism at the University of Utah. His scholarship focuses on youth programming and outdoor education, much of which has been in collaboration with his research partners NOLS and the American Camp Association. Currently his research group is examining long-term impacts of semester-length outdoor education programs and summer camp programming. They are also working with several college pathway programs that use outdoor expeditions to facilitate college and career readiness. Jim strives to remain imbedded in both research and practice, regularly instructing teen courses for NOLS.
