Maria Twitchell

Executive Director, Cedar City Tourism Bureau

Maria was born and raised in Cedar City, Utah where she attended Southern Utah University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communications & Marketing. Following graduation, she held various marketing positions for the county tourism office and was promoted to Executive Director of the Cedar City · Brian Head Tourism Bureau in 2005. At the bureau, she combines her love of travel, hiking, skiing, history, food and photography with her career and serves on many local and state boards including the Frontier Homestead Foundation and the Utah Tourism Industry Association; where she is currently serving as the President Elect. In 2013, the Bureau was merged with the Iron County Outdoor Recreation department and with that merger, Maria also oversees Iron County’s recreational parks and outdoor shooting range. She is the co-author of the book “40 Rules for Women in their 40’s” . Maria is married to Jimmy and they are the proud parents of their daughter Amanda and two dogs Stan and Mia.
