Chris is the principal at Baselayer, a consultancy that helps values-driven businesses drive change through impactful brand advocacy strategies and consumer engagement initiatives.
He is currently leading the climate advocacy initiative for Snowsports Industries America (SIA), the national trade association for the $76 billion winter outdoor industry; elevating the impact of the association and guiding SIA’s industry members to effectively address climate change.
In 2007, Chris started Protect Our Winters (POW) with Jeremy Jones and was the executive director of the organization for a decade. Chris wrote the original mission and the strategic business plan, built POW’s brand and launched numerous initiatives that established POW as the pre-eminent climate change nonprofit representing the outdoor community around the world.
Chris spent most of his career in Los Angeles, at advertising and marketing agencies such as TBWA\Chiat\Day, Deutsch and Octagon, developing award-winning campaigns for Nissan and BMW. He was part of the core team that won the Grand Effie for Nissan.
Chris graduated from St. Lawrence University and currently lives in Boulder, CO with his wife Lisa, and two sons Nicholas and Will.
