Jake Powell is an Extension Specialist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at Utah State University. His professional career focused on uniting communities to their surrounding landscapes through collaborative planning and design efforts. He has worked throughout the intermountain west to envision and implement watershed planning and restoration projects, natural resource conservation efforts, recreation infrastructure, and community economic growth opportunities. Jake’s research and extension efforts focus on analyzing and improving how the design of communities, sites, infrastructure, and natural areas affect the quality of the environment and the human experience from the site to the watershed scale.
