Carly Lansche

Statewide Recreation Planner | Utah Division of Outdoor Rec

Carly Lansche recently joined the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation as the first Statewide Recreation Planner. In this role, she will provide support to communities to develop recreation plans, studies, and strategies to support partnerships and fund outdoor recreation projects. Carly is passionate about enjoying and stewarding our public lands and getting people outside.

Prior to joining the Outdoor Recreation team, Carly worked for Cache County as the Regional Trail and Active Transportation Coordinator. Some of the highlights of her time in this role included developing an online Adopt-A-Trail Dashboard for the Logan Ranger District and securing funding to reopen a trailhead that was closed due to overuse during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She is a graduate of the University of Utah where she studied urban planning and strategic communication. In her personal time, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Bear River Land Conservancy.

Born and raised along the Wasatch back, Carly considers herself lucky to have called so many places in Northern Utah home; including Oakley, Midway, Park City, Logan, and Salt Lake City. Now as a Salt Lake City local, you can usually find Carly pedaling a bike, skiing, tossing a dry fly in the water, or cooking with friends and family.
